What do you do at Kathryn Wilson?

I'm a part-time retail sales assistant, you will mostly find me at our Britomart store :)

How long have you been with KW?

I started my journey at KW in late October 2018, I did 7 months of full-time work at our lovely Britomart store and then I set off to do 3 months of travel! as soon as I got back from my trip I came back to KW as a part-timer :)

What is a typical day like for you at KW?

I always make sure I'm at work with plenty of time for me to tick off my morning jobs and make sure the store and display are looking beautiful! My typical day would include chatting to any one of our lovely customers who come in-store, most want to have a fun try on so I'm out back grabbing sizing and talking shoes, until we find them the perfect pair for whatever occasion. Always a treat when ladies come in just for a browse and a chat too. I send off online orders, answer phone and email queries, and admin jobs to make sure the store runs smoothly! Keeps me busy and I love working in such a lovely little store in Britomart as its got such a fun atmosphere to it down there, there's always people to chat to.

What’s your favorite thing about working at KW?

there are so many things but I'd have to say being apart of such an amazing team of beautiful, strong and empowering women! everyone is so encouraging and supportive of each other. I have also discovered my true love for shoes while working at KW!

What is a funny work memory?

I remember earlier in the year, Kath hosted a vodafone event in our britomart where Jo our lovely retail manager, Kath and I were helping around 15 lucky ladies all find their perfect pair of shoes, we were running around the store like three mad ladies! by the end of it, we had about 100 shoe boxes spread around the store it looked like a bombsite!! all the fun of it though!

What are the values that drive you?

Honesty is such a big one for me, living my life to the truest self I can be is my goal. Kindness and compassion, the world definitely needs more of it. and living everyday as it comes, don't take yourself too seriously because life is short.

What is your favourite style this season and how do you wear it?

there are SO many that I am in love with! My first purchase of the season was the Valentine sneaker, you just can't go wrong with a good sneaker and Kath and Julia nail it every season. I wear it with jeans, midi skirts, dresses, it literally goes with everything! I'm also loving the Maile heel, the Carolyn heel, the Rochelle heel, and Naomi Heel. All so classy and fun, and most importantly extremely comfortable!

What does having happy feet mean to you?

rocking shoes that make you feel confident, sexy and joyful!

What do you love doing when you’re not working, hobbies?

I absolutely love being in the company of my wonderful friends and family, enjoying sunny days on the beach, listening to music, good food and wine, you can't go wrong! But my usual day to day, unfortunately, has me with my head in the books trying to finish my degree!

Top 3 Cafes/eateries recommendations?

El Humero in Takapuna - the best and most authentic Colombian food you will find in Auckland! This hits on a personal level as my mum is from Colombia! Our favorite place to go together. Soul Bar has the most wonderful menu, and the Candy Shop right next door to our New Market store!

If you could only take 3 things with you to a deserted island….

probably good company, tanning oil and food and water (I really can't decide which one of these to kick off the list haha).
