What do you do at Kathryn Wilson?
I’m currently a full timer in Kathryn’s Retail stores. I switch between the 3.

How long have you been with KW?
Still a bit of a newbie. I’ve been with KW for maybe 3 or 4 months. Really enjoying it though. Such a fun team!

What is a typical day like for you at KW?
I usually start my morning with some coffee ( I need to cut down) and then I’ll get stuck into a bit of admin and prepping of the store before opening. Throughout the day I’m helping anyone who walks in with finding their perfect pair of KW shoes or any shoe queries they may have – some people just like a good chat as well which is nice. I’m also doing online orders and answering phone queries here and there. Sometimes the girls in head office need help during busier periods too so retail staff help out wherever we can  – Everyone’s always helping each other out. We’re all super involved in making sure things run smoothly.

What’s your favourite thing about working at KW?
Being part of a boss team of women. GIRL POWERRRRR! (the shoes are super cute too )

What is a funny work memory?
I’ve had a few. One that I can think of at the top of my head is when I confidently answered the phone with “Hello, Kathryn WALKER. You’re speaking with Alumita”.  Walker?! Oops. I then nervously said, “I mean WILSON”  (Sorry Kath). Lucky it was just my manager on the other end who had a good laugh. In my defense it was my first week hah!

What are the values that drive you?
Authenticity – Stay true to yourself and be the same person wherever you go.  Respect- EVERYONE, always. Compassion and kindness is also a big one for me.

What is your favourite style this season and how do you wear it?
This ones too hard to answer. I like too many styles. The marina heel, Maile heel, Bebe heel, Claud heel…. I could really go on for hours. I’d pair with skirts, dresses, cool blazer/pant combos.. depends on my mood.

What does having happy feet mean to you?
When your feet get to rock real cool shoes that you love!

What do you love doing when you’re not working, hobbies?
This is going to sound so lazy but when I get down time I love a good Netflix binge haha. Or I’ll catch up on trashy reality tv that I really don’t need to watch. If we’re talking actual hobbies, I like to sew, draw, do makeup on people. Oh and I love hanging with my family – nothing beats family time.

Top 3 Cafes/eateries recommendations?
Lei Café in Grey Lynn, Blue Rose in Sandringham and my new fave spot is Sweet&Me in Onehunga – they do really cool pacific island inspired cakes and sweets.

If you could only take 3 things with you to a deserted island….
Wine, snacks… maybe my dad. He grew up in Fiji. Surely he’d be able to climb a coconut tree for me.
